How to complain or report

How fast we act

What you tell us aboutWe acknowledge withinWe resolve within
Any complaint, a request about your data, or a problem with your account24 hours7 days
Prohibited content (see the list in our Terms)24 hours36 hours
An intimate image shared without consent, or someone impersonating you2 hours2 hours (we remove it)
Child safety2 hours2 hours (reviewed by a person and escalated)

If you are in the United States, a request about an intimate image is also covered by the US TAKE IT DOWN Act. Its removal limit is 48 hours. Our own limit is 2 hours and we apply the stricter one.

For an intimate image or impersonation, and for child safety, we hide the content straight away while we review it, and the owner is told. We answer every complaint, and every outcome tells you about your right to appeal.

If you are not satisfied: Grievance Appellate Committee

If you do not agree with how we resolved your complaint, you may appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee within 30 days (rule 3A of the IT Rules 2021). Start at gac.gov.in. The Committee aims to decide appeals within 30 days.

If we restricted your own account or removed your content, you can also appeal that decision in the app, under Settings, Account status, within 30 days. A person decides. A suspended or ended account is signed out, so appeal with the complaint form (choose “My account or a decision about it”) or write to the Grievance Officer: we email you the statement and these steps.

Child safety

We take any suspected sexual content involving a child extremely seriously. We hide it immediately, a person reviews it, we preserve the evidence in a locked store, and we report to the police and to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as the law requires. If a child is in danger now, call 112 (India) or Childline on 1098.

Courts and authorities

Lawful orders and requests from a court or an authority should be sent to [email protected].
