How MeetBites works
MeetBites starts with something to do, not a profile to swipe on. You post a plan, people nearby comment on it, and you pick who joins you. That is the whole idea. Here is each step, and what keeps it safe.

Post a plan
Pick an activity, like pickleball, a pottery class or a coffee walk. Search for a real, public venue. Choose a time between two hours and six months ahead. Add a line or two about what you have in mind, say who pays (own bill, I'll pay, equal split or proportional), and choose the kind of plan: a regular date, a blind date that keeps your name and photos hidden until you pick someone, or a group outing with a set number of spots.
You also choose who you would like to meet: their gender and an age range. Only people who fit can comment, so you never have to wade through replies that miss the brief. You can have up to three active plans at once.
- 02
People nearby comment
Your plan shows up in the feed for people within their chosen distance. They can browse by activity, plan type and who pays, and open a plan to see the venue name, the area, the time, who pays and who is hosting.
To join, they comment on the plan, in public or privately to you, up to 280 characters. A comment about why this plan appeals beats a bare 'hey', and it gives you something real to go on. Public comments are visible to everyone who can see the plan and can be liked; private comments are seen only by you and the person who wrote them.
- 03
You pick one person
Open the responses page, filter by who is photo-verified, age, distance or shared interests, and pick who joins. The others are told it did not work out this time, kindly and without a reason. You decide, and nobody turns up uninvited.
The public listing only shows the venue name and a rounded area. The exact address is shared with the person you picked, and with nobody else.
- 04
Chat, briefly
Once you have picked someone, a chat opens for that plan, for the two of you only. It is there to settle small details, like where exactly to meet. It stays open until a couple of days after the date, so talking leads to meeting instead of replacing it.
- 05
Show up, then check in
A couple of hours after the plan starts, MeetBites asks how it went. Answers are private: there are no star ratings and nothing is shown to anyone. If something felt wrong, the check-in shows safety steps first and then helps you report it.
Built around meeting strangers safely
18 and over
Everyone confirms they are an adult when they set up their profile, and the date of birth is locked afterwards.
Public places only
Plans are set at real venues picked from a map search, never at a home. MeetBites checks each venue against published criteria but doesn't guarantee it. Follow the safety tips whichever place you pick. The exact address is shared only with the person you pick.
You control what shows
Hide your age or your distance from your profile and plan cards in Settings. Your phone number, email and exact location are never shown to other people.
Block and report anywhere
Every profile, plan and chat has block and report. A block takes effect immediately, and the other person is never told.
Moderated text and photos
Bios, plans and messages are screened for abuse and contact details, and photos are checked before they stay up.

Questions
Do I have to chat for weeks before meeting?
No. The plan already has a place and a time, and chat only opens once the host has picked someone. It is for logistics and a bit of hello.
What if nobody comments on my plan?
Plans that start without being filled simply expire. Post another one with a different activity or time. Plans that are specific tend to do better than vague ones.
Can I comment on more than one plan?
Yes. You can delete a comment at any time, even after the host has seen it.
Who can see my exact location?
Nobody. Plans use a rounded area. The exact venue address goes only to the person the host picks.
How do I report someone?
Open their profile, plan or chat and tap report. Pick a reason and add detail if you like. Reports are reviewed and can lead to a warning, a hidden profile or a suspension.
Where can I read the rules?
The community guidelines and safety tips cover what we expect, and the date ideas have plenty of plans to steal.
